How important is the web statistics?
Have you ever wondered how important is your website statistic?
If you are maintaining a web site as hobby and not bothered to monetize it, then you probably don’t need to read this article.
Many people out there build a web site to monetize their traffic. At this point the web statistic becomes an important information.
Many times in the past I was confused with different statistic tools give different results. The counter on my site didn’t tally with those reports.
To have a statistic running on my web server is a luxury due to the space need to run the data base. Day by day it will grow to a level, where it can slow down the whole web server, especially if some one is on a shared hosting.
Many have integrated Google’s analytics. I personally do not prefer it as it sets cookie which expires after 2038. Thus some visited today will not be counted tomorrow or until 2039.
AddFreeStats is a free web statistic service I like recommend. It gives you far more detail than any other free web stats I have come across.
Implementing is easy as to copy the code and place it any where on your site. A small image appears on your site. There are options such as when to count a returning visitor as well as having the statistic information public or private.
