PPP Audio Ads

The sound WaveI have posted an article informing you about the emerging trend in online advertisement. In the mean time, I have joined a PPP (Pay per Play) ads company called Voice2Page.

It’s a startup company and will start paying the publishers from Feb. 2008. (That’s what they say?!!) It’s free to join like any other program so I have nothing to loose. I want to give it a try. Currently they don’t have any ads to post here! I am waiting to get hold of one to test. As I have wrote here the ads shouldn’t distract my visitors from fetching information provided here! Content relevancy is to be tested as well. So I am eagerly waiting to test one from them.

PPP can generate more revenue than PPC. The coming year 2008 will see a dramatic change in the way the online ads are presented. Short Audio & video ads will dominate.

If you have a website yourself then I suggest give a try with PPP. If you come across a PPP program don’t forget to comment about it here so that other folks can benefit from such programs too.

What lies ahead in 2008 for you?

The PPP logoAre you in the ‘make money online’ business? If yes, you might be wondering how the year 2008 going to be for you in terms of making some extra cash.

I’ll tell you, you are going to be happier in 2008 Christmas than in 2007. Why? The online advertisement industries are to make a radical turn toward PPP.

What is PPP? Ah! Yes, you know what PPC stand for, Pay per Click. In the same manor, PPP stand for Pay per Play. Yes you heard it right! The emerging trend is audio and video ads. No more clicks necessary to monetize your visitors. They visit your page and your site plays a 5 to 8 second audio ad. You have earned some cash.

Currently there are many companies looking to enter this lucrative audio & video ads market. The big brother ‘Google’ started to roll out some video ads already. You would have noticed it through your AdSense account.

So, what is the problem you as a publisher for these ads going to face? Nothing other than bandwidth limitation! If you have hosted your site with limited bandwidth, then I’ll advise you to upgrade your account before starting to integrate this kind of ads.

How much band with it is going to use? Her you can do a simple calculation. Audio or video ads sampling rate X your unique visitor amount (The ads company promise to play a clip/visitor/day) X the length of the ad in seconds. This will give you the daily bandwidth used in Kilo bits (Kb). Since the sampling rates are discussed in kilo bite per second, divide it by 8 to convert it to Kilo Bytes (KB). Divide it by 1024 to get Mega Bytes (MB) and finally divide it again by 1024 if you want to get the bandwidth need in Giga Byte per day. Hosting services speak in GB.

Sounds complicated? Here is it in a simple form.

Sampling Rate (X Kb/s) x (length of the Ad in seconds) x (unique visitor/ day) / (8 x 1024 x 1024) = Bandwidth/day
