Did you invest in .US domain Names? I did get some of the good names such as JetRentals.us

There are news circulating around the net which demotes .us name. Here is my piece of advise!

Don’t panic, Just hold them for at least another 5 years. The things are to turn upside down.

Definitely the .com rules, but there will be a polar shift towards ccTLDs.

I have written about this many times and here again I’ll let you know why?

If you are purchasing products or services on line, then my best bet is that you want to do so within your country and not from other side of the world. Why? So that you can easily claim warranty or further services. Thus you will feel secure to purchase within your territory. This trend will come, thus I advise you to hold on to your ccTLDs.

Its a long time I have updated this site. I was busy with other projects. what was it?

Ok, here I’ll tell you what is in my mind. If you have noticed, you Know I have moved to Sri Lanka couple of years back. heard of the civil war in Sri Lanka? Or LTTE?

Since the war ended on may 18th last year Government of Sri Lanka winning over the LTTE, I am on my way to Jaffna to educate the web technology. Jaffna was and is the central to the Tamil culture. Tamil are above average in Math sills. Thus I think they can master the art of coding.

So, What hold me back? The problems I face is the housing. Hey, I was shocked to hear that they are charging SLR 4000/= per night for just a room. That is ridicules. But, for them its time to earn some cash after 30 years in isolation.

Anyway, I have made some arrangement and people are looking for a housing for me.

So the last 8 weeks I was busy with that and in the mean time the Domain Name industry is reviving faster than I thought. If you followed the news, you would have heard the new record breaking news.

Poker.org sold for 1 million US. There are other great sales as well. But a ORG domain sold for the first time at this price. There are some nice flips too. 2 domain names registered in Nov 2009 and sold for over 100k US in march 2010.

So what are you waiting for? invest your $ 8 in a name and hope for good. Remember to read my other post on how to select a good domain name.

Internet billionaire list is published by BBC. Very intesting . . .

The internet has created some of the world’s youngest billionaires, possibly in the shortest possible time scale, ever.

The richest are Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the pair who set up Google in the late 1990s. They went from PhD students to (paper) billionaires in about five years.

The youngest is 25-year-old Mark Zuckerberg, founder of social networking site Facebook, who has returned to the billionaire list in 2010 after dropping out in 2009 amid the economic downturn.
