2cms is not a CMS by it self. It is actually powered by WordPress version 2.5. I have made some changes to PHP functions and core HTML rendering with-in functions. Thus it is not the original WordPress release. Taking the advantage of GPL I just had fun calling it 2cms.

Those who visit my site regularly should have notice the major changes to my site. First, I started with Mambo and hit the roof sooner as I started to implement SEO. For a while I was modifying PHP code to accommodate my need. But ever growing modifications lead me to seek alternative to Mambo. Joomla is another CMS. The group left Mambo and founded Joomla. Now is sound like the GPL project got personal. It is not within this site’s scope to discuss this matter. So I leave it here!

Since I am about to blog on make money online, I wanted to give a try on WordPress. Now! That’s where you read this article. I developed the template from scratch coding in HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP and JS obeying all SEO rules and theories I know. Named it SEO max.

SEO max template is optimized for Search Engine and for ads to make money online.

Once the template is done, I had to modify core PHP HTML rendering to archive the SEO implemented in template. There are also nice plug-in readily available same under GPL. I use many of them. Especially, “All-In-One-SEO” and xml-sitemap plug-in are very useful. I didn’t wanted to invent the wheel again, so i start to try them out and these 2 are very useful in terms of SEO.

Once I was satisfied with the results, I wanted to deploy to live server. But, I don’t want to loose the Google PageRank. This site has a PageRank of 3 and I am expecting better results soon. I also want to keep my old links working, thus generating close to non 404 results.

Wishing was simple, fulfilling was not without trouble!

Mambo was installed and running off root directory on my web server. I installed WordPress in a folder for it self. Tested and was working flawlessly.

Then I moved Mambo to its own folder and tested with modified configuration files. It was a success without any problem.

At this point I deleted the index files from root and copied the WordPress index file to root and made the configuration changes with-in WordPress administration panel. Made some additional changes to the redirecting and every thing was fine. Deleted the rest of Mambo files from root.

Got my big coffee cup filled! ;0) That’s the story about 2cms.

Warning: Don’t go and just do it like that! You have to have edited configuration file and a redirect method ready to minimize the server down time. - Falling to prepare is preparing to fail -
