Can Google AdSense target content section for relevancy?
Since I have setup my website using content management system (CMS) the ads were generally relevant to the title of my site than to the content. It took me a while to realize this and started surfing my own site and checking the ads carefully.
CAUTION: DON’T CLICK YOUR OWN ADS, AS IT IS AGAINST THE GOOGLE TOS.
The reason for this is that CMS divides thing and a template is build to load the contents dynamically. There is no way the AdSense know the subject of the content as it is not mentioned where the content start or end.
As my site is about ‘Make Money Online’ I had to find out the possibilities to point the AdSense script to know the content. I thought about many possibilities, including implementing the AdSense code directly to the content. Even though this is possible, it will over haul the concept of the CMS. For me, it is like going back in time, where I was creating page by page, with the same header and footer. Remember the trouble in getting all of them linked properly? I do, so that option died out faster than it came up.
There I was on the search again! This time I directed the search towards getting or creating a component for the CMS. So that it is automatically places AdSense code within the content as predefined while coding the component.
At this point I came to 2 best options! One was the Mambo AdSense manager 2.5 and the other was mod AdSense 3.0. Both didn’t solve my problem of ad relevancy. After trying out and doing many hacks to the PHP code, I was back to square one.
After searching for many hours, to my surprise I came to the Goggle page, where they have implemented this feature back in Sept. 2005 or so and there was a guide how to implement the section or sections of your site for AdSense relevancy.
Wow! That simple it is and not well known out there. At least I assume that it is not well known because my search didn’t point to this immediately.
Audio ads payout to Webmaster!
I couldn’t find out the exact payment to webmasters, by th evoice2page company, just jet. But I have the percentage of your earnings of what advertiser spend for that particular play. Some thing is better than nothing. Thus I published it here!
The other way you can earn is by simply referring other website owners, online marketing firms, fortune 500 companies, etc. to run PPP ads on their website(s). You will earn a healthy 5% of the total amount that our advertisers spend running ads on your referrals website(s).
Just to be clear… you are not earning 5% of what your direct referral earns (they earn 25%), you you earn 5% of what the advertiser spent to have their ad played on your direct referrals website.
And as a further incentive we have made it possible for you to earn an additional 5% from anyone that your direct referrals bring on board as if you directly referred them!
In summary you will earn:
- 25% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads you serve on your own website(s).
- 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) of those you refer.
- 5% of what the advertiser spends on PPP ads played on the website(s) that your direct referrals bring on board.

Write Product Reviews to increase traffic
Write Product reviews to increase traffic to your site and maximize make money online.
Product reviews are similar to writing testimonials except a product review will be more detailed and provide the reader with in-depth information on how the product works, the benefits, features, and your personal feelings about the product and how it benefited you.
A product review should span a full page of your website. Most product reviews are better utilized when promoting affiliate programs and is used as a pre-sales strategy. The more information you can give your viewer about the products you endorse the more likely you are to make a sale and you come closer to your make money online goal.
When writing a product review, don’t simply tell your viewer that a product or service is really great and point them to your affiliate page, writing a personal review should be backed up with detailed information and specifics. This is much more appealing and convincing to your reader.
I recommend purchasing products before providing a review. I’ve purchased and used most of the products I endorse, however if I endorse something that I haven’t purchased I make darn sure that it’s a quality, premium product. I do this by talking to others and doing my homework. After all, my reputation is on the line. But more importantly, you can give a much more compelling review if you are intimately familiar with a product or service.
For example, I can tell you that a BMW is a very good car and I could write up a very good review. I wouldn’t be lying if I said it is a good, quality car because it is, however I could make a much more compelling claim if I actually owned the car and provided some personal details that not everyone else might tell you about.
Also, it doesn’t hurt the review to put in things you don’t like about a product. As much as you like something there’s always room for improvement and your viewers will appreciate the honesty.
It always stands to reason that when you actually use something yourself you are in a much better position to make a compelling, believable review.
So, what are you waiting for? Start writing your product review and make money online!
PPP Audio Ads
I have posted an article informing you about the emerging trend in online advertisement. In the mean time, I have joined a PPP (Pay per Play) ads company called Voice2Page.
It’s a startup company and will start paying the publishers from Feb. 2008. (That’s what they say?!!) It’s free to join like any other program so I have nothing to loose. I want to give it a try. Currently they don’t have any ads to post here! I am waiting to get hold of one to test. As I have wrote here the ads shouldn’t distract my visitors from fetching information provided here! Content relevancy is to be tested as well. So I am eagerly waiting to test one from them.
PPP can generate more revenue than PPC. The coming year 2008 will see a dramatic change in the way the online ads are presented. Short Audio & video ads will dominate.
If you have a website yourself then I suggest give a try with PPP. If you come across a PPP program don’t forget to comment about it here so that other folks can benefit from such programs too.
Publish an Ezine or Newsletter to increase traffic
People love to get free useful and original information. If you can provide that, they will flock to your website. One of the best ways to do that is provide an ezine or newsletter.
Publishing an ezine isn’t as hard as it appears. Your biggest hurdle will be coming up with topics and information to include in your newsletter. However, the best thing about an ezine or newsletter is that it keeps your visitors coming back to your site. It gives you numerous opportunities to get in front of your audience over and over again.
You do this by capturing their email addresses in exchange for your free publication. (see collecting email addresses below)
You don’t have to get fancy with a newsletter or ezine. All you need to do is create your newsletter in an email and post it to your viewers about once a week or perhaps once a month. There are many more formal ways of doing it but if you’re just getting started do it the easy way and work up to perfection later on.
When to Publish
With as much email as people get it’s probably best to publish once a month. That gives you plenty of time to gather good, solid, useful information and you won’t be bombarding your opt-in list with more mail than they want.
Tip:
Instead of publishing a full blown newsletter, you could also publish entries on a blog and once a month simply email your list outlining the topics on your blog and simply send them there instead of putting it all in the email. A simply email directing them to your blog is a lot more likely to get through the spam filters as well.
Make sure when you request your viewers email address that you specify what your ezine will include, for example, tips, specials, guides articles, etc., and also specify how often you will be sending out your newsletter. People today like to be sure of what they’re getting and how often.
Collecting Email Addresses
If you’re not familiar with how to collect email addresses here’s some useful information.
When collecting emails and publishing any publication online you will need an auto responder email service or auto responder service to professionally maintain your email collection. This is a service that helps you collect email addresses and stores them for you. An email auto responder will allow you to create emails, newsletters or ezine and broadcast it to all the members of your list with one stroke of a key. When collecting opt-ins simply collect the person’s first name and email address. If you ask for too much information you’re not as likely to get the sign-up. It will also help you create a form for collecting email addresses.
Don’t use safe lists or purchase email lists. No matter how reputable they don’t achieve the results that you get from obtaining your own lists. I don’t recommend using a free auto responder. Heaven knows there are plenty of them out there. The problem with free auto responders is that they will include lots of advertising with your emails. It will detract from the look and feel of your email, plus it can distract your readers, I don’t recommend it.
If your website hosting company has an email auto responder you can also use them but there are also problems with that. I’ve discovered that host mail servers often get ‘blacklisted’ which means your emails are never likely to reach your viewers.
I recommend going with an auto responder that is in the email business. They’ll work harder to make sure your emails get sent and don’t get blacklisted. I’ve also noticed that email auto responders that come with web hosting services often get blacklisted, so they’re not always a good option if you want your emails to reach your viewers.
For each sign up that you get, send an automatic welcome email thanking them for signing up. Be specific about what they signed up for and how often they can expect an email from you. If you are offering an email course, let them know they will be receiving an email every day for the next x number of days. Whether your newsletter is weekly or monthly, let them know that.
Most importantly don’t bombard your readers with ads or useless information. You want your readers to look forward to getting your emails and you can only do that if you offer useful, interesting content that has a tone of your originality.
Submit your ezine or newsletters to ezine directories
Always submit your ezine or newsletter publication to publication directories. There are newsletter directories that provide specific information such number of subscribers, how often it’s published and other information that readers need to know.
Content ideas
You want your newsletter or ezine to be something that people look forward to getting each week. Don’t bombard them with ads or useless information. People are busy and generally read a lot online so they want to read things that offer value.
- Make your newsletter personal. In your salutation use the person’s name that you captured in your opt-in list.
- Make comments on topics related to your web site’s topic
- Include articles. They can be written by others but should be articles that you have found of particular interest.
- Include a “what’s new “ on your website
- Don’t be afraid to be a little controversial. Write an editorial about what irks you or a personal feeling. People can read about the usual stuff anywhere, they want to hear about the unusual, controversial and interesting.
- Tell a joke or use http://www.freesticky.com to find ideas to make your newsletter fun and interesting.
