Emerging trend in online advertisement!
The online advertisement is here to stay for a long time with us. Current trends indicate the TV viewers are moving away from the box and entertain themselves in online. Searching for information is better suites the folks than to switch through the channels. Think again! How often you have scrolled through your 50 odds channel to find nothing interesting.
With the dominance of the Internet and growing broadband services the online advertisement is about to move away from PPC to PPP.
What is all this PPC & PPP?
PPC stands for Pay per Click. PPP stands for Pay per Play. So you got it, right?
Since the Google introduced the AdSense there are many PPC advertisers emerged and submerged.
The negative effect of the PPC is that if the ads displayed are not relevant to your content, the chance you get a click is less than 10 percent. Note the point here; your visitor will take note of the ad even though they are not clicking on that ad. There are many reasons for this. One could be that your content is more interesting than the ad. Another is that they are disappointed by the ads in the past as they did not provide what the visitor expects.
I have clicked many such ads. It states FREE this and that. But once you are on their site you will realize it wasn’t you was expecting. Yes! I agree why would some one pay to advertise something they want to give away free. OK! Agreed. But why do these advertisers want to mislead my visitor. I have a cretin responsibility by displaying those ads to my visitors.
NOW! We are moving from this PPC and getting more profitable PPP.
With the broadband service becoming the common mean to connect to Internet, the ads are moving from text based to video ads. Thus these ads do not require click on the ad. The ads will play for a certain time like 5 sec or 10 sec for each unique visitor and the publisher get paid. Thus, enabling the publisher to make more revenue with PPP than PPC.
What lies ahead in 2008 for you?
Are you in the ‘make money online’ business? If yes, you might be wondering how the year 2008 going to be for you in terms of making some extra cash.
I’ll tell you, you are going to be happier in 2008 Christmas than in 2007. Why? The online advertisement industries are to make a radical turn toward PPP.
What is PPP? Ah! Yes, you know what PPC stand for, Pay per Click. In the same manor, PPP stand for Pay per Play. Yes you heard it right! The emerging trend is audio and video ads. No more clicks necessary to monetize your visitors. They visit your page and your site plays a 5 to 8 second audio ad. You have earned some cash.
Currently there are many companies looking to enter this lucrative audio & video ads market. The big brother ‘Google’ started to roll out some video ads already. You would have noticed it through your AdSense account.
So, what is the problem you as a publisher for these ads going to face? Nothing other than bandwidth limitation! If you have hosted your site with limited bandwidth, then I’ll advise you to upgrade your account before starting to integrate this kind of ads.
How much band with it is going to use? Her you can do a simple calculation. Audio or video ads sampling rate X your unique visitor amount (The ads company promise to play a clip/visitor/day) X the length of the ad in seconds. This will give you the daily bandwidth used in Kilo bits (Kb). Since the sampling rates are discussed in kilo bite per second, divide it by 8 to convert it to Kilo Bytes (KB). Divide it by 1024 to get Mega Bytes (MB) and finally divide it again by 1024 if you want to get the bandwidth need in Giga Byte per day. Hosting services speak in GB.
Sounds complicated? Here is it in a simple form.
Sampling Rate (X Kb/s) x (length of the Ad in seconds) x (unique visitor/ day) / (8 x 1024 x 1024) = Bandwidth/day

How to setup a “Make Money Online” Website
I had many request to explain the content of this site in plain English. I had the novice visitors in my mind while I wrote these contents. I am afraid that I can’t write them any simpler than this.
At this juncture, I thought I could provide a step by step guide to those who have trouble understanding technical terms.
There are several ways to make money online. I have explained how to monetize your knowledge else where within this site. You don’t sell information directly to make money online, rather you give the information free to your visitor and earn by advertising on your site.
No one is good at everything; everyone is good at some thing!
I guarantee you, you are good at something. Find it out. You might not know the knowledge within you. In that case, ask your friend or anyone who is close to you, about your positive and negative aspects.
Do some brain storming and find a niche which you love to read, talk and write. Also pay attention to the experience you collected in the past which could be very valuable and written down can be a big hit on the net.
DO: Write a minimum of 30 articles on the niche you have chosen not less than 600 words. Take care not to make spelling and grammar mistakes. Write quality contents include your experience. Be open and write how you succeeded or failed. Both information are important. Your reader should be cautioned about the failed routes. Since you have failed once trying that, you can protect your reader from failing by going the same road. They will love it. There after, 2nd to 6th month, post at least 4 articles a week!
Hint: Choose some good image for your articles. Every article should have at least one image. Depends on the subject you may add more images. What ever you do, try and maintain the harmonic flow of the content with the meaningful image.
Tip: A guy writing about Rainforest and earns $ 16’000 to 18’000 a month. The site is getting 1.3 million unique visits per month.
DO: If you don’t have Gmail account, get one from Google now. http://www.gmail.com
DO: Setup a professional website. There are many options to archive this task. I recommend a content management system (CMS), which is easy to setup. I know that, it will be a little hard for you to learn management of such system. The time you spend learning this, will make your life easier, later down the road.
I recommend implementing Mambo version 4.6.2. Joomla is a good CMS too, but the rapid development of that system requires some technical knowledge to keep the system up to date. The best blog platform is WordPress. Need help with setting up your site? Check out what CashTheWeb.com has to offer here . . .
Once you have chosen the CMS platform, install it and follow the respective manual and post your articles.
